From building physical strength and helping with mental relaxation to creating lifelong one-of-a-kind memories, there’s plenty of reasons why you should try snorkelling. We might be a little biased here, but we think the world would be a better place if everyone went snorkelling every once in awhile
If you have a family, then snorkelling is the perfect bonding activity that’s fun for everyone. What better way to connect than by donning your snorkel masks and fins and going out snorkelling for the day. Sure, you can’t really talk while you have a snorkel mask on, but it’s the adventure of the whole journey that brings everyone together.
Firstly there’s the excitement of purchasing your first snorkel masks and waiting for them to arrive in the mail. Then there’s the fun of trying them on and practicing them in a swimming pool or in the shallows of the beach. After that, there’s the joy of finding a beautiful snorkelling location near your home, or planning the perfect family snorkelling vacation.
Once you’ve found your snorkelling spot, there’s the road trip to the beach, the fun in the sun, and then the adventure of sharing an underwater experience together. You’ll be bonding over the animals you spot underwater and the beautiful world under the sea, building memories and stories to last a lifetime! If we’re honest, snorkelling is our favourite family activity ever.
There are so many ways that snorkelling is good for both your physical and mental health. For one, being out in the sun and in nature is great for anybody’s soul. Why be locked up inside in a gym when you can get your fitness from nature? If you’re snorkelling you can relax and de-stress from everyday life and enjoy the sun, sand, and peace and quiet of the beach. That makes it an excellent activity for mental health.
Secondly, the act of gliding along in the water as you snorkel is great for your muscles and your body. Whether you use fins or not, your whole body enjoys a workout when you're snorkelling. You'll be moving your arms, your legs, and your back, pushing against the water's resistance. Snorkelling is also great for your heart, helping to increase your heart rate so that it builds cardiovascular strength. Your joints also enjoy a good snorkelling trip, as it helps to ease stiffness and increase mobility in a low-impact environment that's gentler than running or walking.
Everybody loves a beach vacation. The sun, the sea, the sand. Relaxing by the water with a nice book is a great way to spend your holiday, but snorkelling lets you enjoy your vacation even more. You get to discover even more beautiful scenery at your holiday destination than if you were just staying on the sand.
Firstly, you can see all the different reefs, sea creatures, and coral life that you otherwise wouldn’t know about. Secondly you’ll be hopping around to new and different locations to discover even more snorkel sites, letting you explore your vacation spot even more. And you’ll have even more stories and photographs to share with your loved ones back home - like swimming with sea turtles, manta rays, or even whale sharks! Now that’s a unique vacation activity.
If you’re curious about exploring more of our beautiful oceans, snorkelling is the perfect way to do it! You get to discover all these incredible little worlds underwater, swim with sea life, and marvel at all the plant life that exists only in the ocean. And every time you go snorkelling, there’s something new to experience.
Unlike being on a boat or swimming laps in the sea, snorkelling is also extremely quiet and peaceful. You can float along slowly and at your own pace, enjoying the marvellous sights around you. It’s a way to relax and de-stress from life above the sea, while also having glorious fun at the same time. Snorkelling is the best way to explore the ocean and discover its hidden secrets.
You never forget the moment you come face-to-face with a sea turtle. Or the time you were engulfed by a school of fish, floating amongst a sea of glimmering creatures. Or the time you witnessed a crab burrow itself between some rocks. Or that glow-in-the-dark coral that looked like an alien life form.
There are some things you can only see and experience while snorkelling, and the more you do it, the more incredible memories you will make that are simply unforgettable. You never know what experiences and adventures are waiting for you each time you snorkel - and that’s what makes it such a thrilling, one-of-a-kind activity.
Swimming is one of the best activities you can do for your body. Even if it’s in a state of recovery or not very strong or agile, swimming is a non-invasive practice that virtually anyone can do. It helps you build muscle without exerting too much effort, and keeps your body relaxed and joints flexible.
To us, snorkelling is the sport that has it all. You’re in the great outdoors, you’re enjoying yourself, you’re making memories, and you’re getting fit without sweating like crazy! If you’re the kind of person who can’t stand the gym or the thought of doing ab workouts at home - snorkelling is an easy sport that you can tackle in no time.
Why watch documentaries on TV when you can see them in real life? Snorkelling takes you up close and personal with the best that nature has to offer - fish, shells, sea creatures, coral life, and all of the in-betweens. You’re the narrator of your own personal underwater documentary, weaving around wherever you like and discovering the stunning world under the sea.
The best thing is that you can choose where to go and how long to observe each fish or coral reef. If something strikes you as particularly interesting, you’re welcome to float along and keep watching for as long as you like. If you get bored, you can move on somewhere else and see what else there is to discover…
If you’re looking for an activity to build more fitness while having fun at the same time, snorkelling is one that’s easy to pick up. Don’t feel threatened by the idea of snorkelling equipment and wearing fancy masks and contraptions. Snorkelling equipment is actually very simple and easy to use - and if you invest in a good snorkel mask, it’s also extremely comfortable and relaxing.
Anyone can learn how to snorkel, whether you’re new to swimming or you’ve been swimming your whole life. A full face snorkel mask can make a world of difference for someone who finds it difficult to breathe underwater - it’s easy, comfortable, and you’ll be navigating the seas like a pro in no time.
So there you have it, sounds dreamy right? Maybe now you can see why the team at Ninja Shark are so obsessed with this beautiful activity. We’ve made our fair share of memories while snorkelling, and we’ve met some amazing people along the way. So - just try it! And don’t forget to let us know how your snorkelling adventures go…
“The mask include GOPRO mounts, so you can easily film and photograph underwater scenery! I highly recommend especially to people who have a fear of snorkeling! This mask is really easy to use and is safe!” said @lud.around. “I can’t wait for my next trip with my new mask!”
Loved the complete set. I even used the waterproof phone pouch to take photos and videos underwater. It made my Fiji experience so much better than using the free snorkel set that hurt your face after 2hours and leaving a sun/mask mark. The ninja leaves no marks and gives great vision under water in comparison. It did take some getting used to but it definitely paid off! Only frustration is that the tightening straps are quite basic; they should be much simpler to loosen and tighten both in and out of water.” – Jock
