From building physical strength and helping with mental relaxation to creating lifelong one-of-a-kind memories, there’s plenty of reasons why you should try snorkelling. We might be a little biased here, but we think the world would be a better place if everyone went snorkelling every once in awhile
If you have a family, then snorkelling is the perfect bonding activity that’s fun for everyone. What better way to connect than by donning your snorkel masks and fins and going out snorkelling for the day. Sure, you can’t really talk while you have a snorkel mask on, but it’s the adventure of the whole journey that brings everyone together.
Firstly there’s the excitement of purchasing your first snorkel masks and waiting for them to arrive in the mail. Then there’s the fun of trying them on and practicing them in a swimming pool or in the shallows of the beach. After that, there’s the joy of finding a beautiful snorkelling location near your home, or planning the perfect family snorkelling vacation.
Once you’ve found your snorkelling spot, there’s the road trip to the beach, the fun in the sun, and then the adventure of sharing an underwater experience together. You’ll be bonding over the animals you spot underwater and the beautiful world under the sea, building memories and stories to last a lifetime! If we’re honest, snorkelling is our favourite family activity ever.
There are so many ways that snorkelling is good for both your physical and mental health. For one, being out in the sun and in nature is great for anybody’s soul. Why be locked up inside in a gym when you can get your fitness from nature? If you’re snorkelling you can relax and de-stress from everyday life and enjoy the sun, sand, and peace and quiet of the beach. That makes it an excellent activity for mental health.
Secondly, the act of gliding along in the water as you snorkel is great for your muscles and your body. Whether you use fins or not, your whole body enjoys a workout when you're snorkelling. You'll be moving your arms, your legs, and your back, pushing against the water's resistance. Snorkelling is also great for your heart, helping to increase your heart rate so that it builds cardiovascular strength. Your joints also enjoy a good snorkelling trip, as it helps to ease stiffness and increase mobility in a low-impact environment that's gentler than running or walking.
Everybody loves a beach vacation. The sun, the sea, the sand. Relaxing by the water with a nice book is a great way to spend your holiday, but snorkelling lets you enjoy your vacation even more. You get to discover even more beautiful scenery at your holiday destination than if you were just staying on the sand.
Firstly, you can see all the different reefs, sea creatures, and coral life that you otherwise wouldn’t know about. Secondly you’ll be hopping around to new and different locations to discover even more snorkel sites, letting you explore your vacation spot even more. And you’ll have even more stories and photographs to share with your loved ones back home - like swimming with sea turtles, manta rays, or even whale sharks! Now that’s a unique vacation activity.
